Fuengirola Visitors Guide

Mijas Pueblo

Just a twenty five minute bus journey from Fuengirola is the beautiful Spanish village of Mijas Pueblo. A visit here is a must if you are taking a holiday on the coast. The village is perched on a mountain side over four hundred meters above sea level. The views over the coastline are breathtaking, so remember to take a camera.
The village itself consists of many narrow streets, some cobbled, with whitewashed houses adorned with flowers. There are many shops and restaurants here, so allow at least half a day to take in the atmosphere. The village has one of Spain's smallest bullrings, and is unusually oval in shape. There is also a small bullfighting museum attached.
For the best views over the coast, go to the village church of Iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepcion. The church dates back to the 18th century, and was built on the site of a Moorish castle that was here until the 15th century.
